It is the most bankruptcies in 13 years as 54 Companies have decided to seek protection under bankruptcy protection laws. The last time we saw this number of companies in financial stress was the year following the Great Financial Crisis of 2008-09. It is a real indication of how the up and down nature of this economy is making life difficult for corporate financial officers. First the Pandemic, then the fickle retail shopper, and not higher interest rates are combining to put some corporations in bankruptcy.
