German Economic Indicators continue to fall. For six months in a row, Zew, the economics research company in Mannheim reports that the outlook in Germany is darkening. Their sentiment index now stands at a -59.5, the lowest level in 8 months, and a sure sign that economic clouds are beginning to cover Germany.
The report points to three factors that are contributing to this:
“A key reason for this is the expectation of rising short-term interest rates in the eurozone and the USA. Additionally, important export markets like China are seen as relatively weak.”
