For the Greeks, the Universe was an ordered place, where man existed with the Greek Gods. In life, each had a role to play. The "gods" commanded the universe.

And mankind was expected to comply with their wishes and commands. And woe to any mortal, who might cross the line, and pretend to be a “god”.
