This week we got a pretty good look at the world-wide trend in inflation. And overall, it appears that inflation may be moderating. That's certainly appears to be the case for the United States, where first we saw that the consumer's view of future inflation held absolutely flat, no change at all.
And that proved to be the case for overall yearly inflation in the US, also flat. And indicating that inflation may indeed be moderating, the so called core inflation rate in the US, that's the rate that EXCLUDES food and gas, the core rate actually declined.
